Spiritual Significance

Gaja Lakshmi is said to have emerged during the Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), where she restored the lost wealth and power of Indra, king of the gods. Gaja Lakshmi is worshipped to restore wealth, protect from financial instability, and ensure domestic harmony. The presence of elephants elevates her status as a giver of royal fortune and enduring success.

Symbolism & Iconography

The idol features Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth and abundance, seated on a lotus posture.  Her attire is traditionally red, symbolizing auspiciousness and fertility.  She holds lotus flowers in two hands, while the other two display the Abhaya mudra (gesture of protection) and Varada mudra (gesture of blessing). She is flanked by two known as Gaja, who are shown showering her with water or standing in reverence. Elephants represent royalty, power, and fertility, often associated with rain and agricultural prosperity. Lotus flowers beneath or around Lakshmi symbolize purity, spiritual awakening, and detachment from material impurities. Coins or kalash in her hands signify material wealth and generosity.

Brass a Revered Material

This idol set is made of fine Brass having Golden Yellow finish having elegant carvings and antique look. This small sculpture is handcrafted by skilled metal work artisans in India carrying the rich tradition of metalworking passed down through generations. Brass, an alloy of copper and zinc, holds a place of deep reverence in Indian heritage. For centuries, it has been the metal of choice for crafting spiritual idols, temple bells, pooja utensils, and decorative artifacts, thanks to its radiant golden hue and auspicious energy.   In Vedic traditions, brass is believed to carry sattvic (pure) vibrations, making it ideal for ritual use and divine representations. It is said to attract and retain positive energy, enhancing the sanctity of any space.
